silhouettes of our bodies

from start to finish
working with any source, there is an evolution that takes place. decisions and assumptions are placed aside, work focuses on the unconscious and the subtlety of the moving, breathing figure in front of you. morphing of the image brings life, movement and space to a piece that could otherwise remain still, stagnant and lifeless. the constant moving, internally and externally, gives me more of a sense of life. when dealing with two-dimensions, we often forget about the volume of the third. interior/exterior play an important role of the overall. time is no excuse, and is every excuse. movement is captured by the paper from the artist who is capturing it from the sitter. the cycle continues.
the transitions from the translucent to the opaque. capturing time and space through movement and repetition. finding the essence, the integral, the real. tangible. waiting for the moment of push/pull, the moment of truth. all comes forward and finds itself somewhere in the translation of mark-making. the universal language of light, color, touch, mark, image, sound and emotion.
