solo show at the perry gallery — july 2006
john ros is scheduled to exhibit a new solo show at the perry gallery in the heart of downtown binghamton’s art scene. john used to maintain a studio in the third floor space of the historical perry building. the studio overlooked the old courthouse, looking down both, exchange and collier streets. john worked in the space from march to july 2005, mounting a solo show in april 2005.
the gallery is owned and directed by susan kirkland, a visionary and artist in her own right. she seeks to maintain i high level of the arts in binghamton, bringing exciting and dynamic shows to the area, enhancing the experience of it’s viewers through education and exposure to a variety of art work.
this new exhibit will feature works by john ros created during the first half of 2006 during his yearlong stay at the vermont studio center in johnson vermont. recently, john has been working on oils, charcoals and monotypes. in the coming months, john plans on working on gouaches and collage.
the exhibition is scheduled to run 6-29 july, 2006 with receptions on the 6th and 7th of july from 6-9p.
