determination to a certain form

my aim when working with the figure is to capture a remnant of the sitter’s presence, while depicting the motion strained in a seated or standing pose. it is important to draw and redraw as the sitter breaks as well to keep the image fresh and alive with movement. these images not only represent the strain of the sitter, but also the strain of the translation from sight to hand to paper, the struggle of depicting any image with honesty and dignity.
